# Private control or global stablecoin banking?

KAST is a broad, banking-style stablecoin app with tiered Visa cards, rewards and wide country coverage. We built Fiber to feel just as easy without asking you to give us custody of your assets.

## THE SHORT ANSWER

Choose Fiber when you want the ease of a neobank without handing the neobank your assets. Choose KAST when its wider published coverage, card tiers and rewards matter more than non-custodial control.

## Two ways to make stablecoins useful.

Both products make stablecoins easy to use. The important difference is the control boundary: we give you the neobank experience while your assets stay yours.

| Topic | Fiber | Competitor | Takeaway |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Asset control | We are non-custodial by architecture. We do not hold, custody or control your assets and cannot access your funds. | KAST describes payment, card, custody and on/off-ramp services delivered with licensed institutions and security partners. | Choose based on whether direct user control is a requirement. |
| Financial privacy | We protect supported transfers, trades and earn activity with zero-knowledge privacy based on a fork of Railgun. | KAST highlights identity verification, encryption, device security and fraud monitoring rather than private on-chain activity. | We make transaction privacy part of the product architecture. |
| Markets | We give you 24/7 access to supported tokenized stocks, commodities and crypto with 0% Fiber trading fees. | KAST focuses on storing, earning, moving and spending stablecoins, plus selected crypto and partner vaults. | We offer broader private, always-on asset access. |
| Published fees | We charge 0% Fiber deposit and trading fees. Network, spread and third-party costs can still apply. | KAST publishes 0% top-up and USD card-spend fees, 0.5%–1.75% non-USD FX, ATM charges, and separate ACH and wire fees. | Compare the exact transaction you expect to make, not one headline rate. |
| Account rails | We provide eligible US account details for ACH and domestic wires with 0% Fiber deposit fees. | KAST publishes a global USD account, ACH and FedWire support, plus additional local-currency payout options. | KAST emphasizes rail breadth; we emphasize the private account around the deposit. |

## Fiber fit

- You want supported financial activity shielded with zero-knowledge proofs.
- You do not want the app provider to hold or access your assets.
- You want private 24/7 access to tokenized stocks, commodities and crypto.

## KAST fit

- You prioritize published availability across many countries and currencies.
- You value tiered card rewards more than keeping the account non-custodial.
- You prefer a banking-style account delivered through regulated custody and payment partners.

KAST’s published reach and rewards are real advantages. Fiber makes a different trade: less published geographic breadth in exchange for a neobank-style account that remains non-custodial.

## FAQ

### Is Fiber the same kind of product as KAST?

They overlap on stablecoin income, earn and account rails. We built Fiber to deliver a familiar account experience while remaining non-custodial; KAST delivers its banking-style platform with custody and payment partners.

### Does Fiber have lower fees than KAST?

We charge 0% Fiber deposit and trading fees. KAST publishes 0% top-up fees, with some payout fees depending on the action. Network, spread and third-party costs may still apply, so compare the exact deposit, trade or transfer you need.

### Is KAST a bank or a neobank?

KAST says it is not a bank. It is a financial technology company that provides banking-style accounts, cards, custody and payment services through licensed partners. Fiber is also not a bank; the important distinction is that the assets in your Fiber wallet remain non-custodial.

### How much does KAST charge for wire transfers?

As reviewed on August 10, 2026, KAST lists $15 for incoming USD FedWire or SWIFT deposits. It lists outgoing USD FedWire at $20 plus a 0.5% transfer fee, with that percentage fee waived through December 2026. Intermediary, foreign-exchange and location-dependent costs can still vary.

### Which is better for privacy?

We explicitly shield supported transfers, trades and earn activity with zero-knowledge proofs. KAST’s public materials emphasize account security and fraud protection, which are valuable but different from transaction privacy.
