# A private stablecoin account or a wallet spending card?

MetaMask Card adds spending to a wallet many crypto users already have. We built Fiber to remove the wallet-shaped work: non-custodial control inside an account that feels as easy as a neobank.

## THE SHORT ANSWER

Choose Fiber when you want wallet control with incoming payments, earn and supported markets in one account. Choose MetaMask Card if MetaMask is already where you manage assets and the missing piece is checkout.

## Account first or wallet add-on.

Both preserve user control. We turn that principle into a complete everyday account; MetaMask Card extends a general-purpose wallet into payments.

| Topic | Fiber | Competitor | Takeaway |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Asset control | We are non-custodial and cannot access your funds, while keeping wallet mechanics out of the everyday experience. | MetaMask is non-custodial. Users choose which tokens the card can draw and set a spending cap. | Both retain user control, with different permission models. |
| Privacy | We shield supported on-chain transfers, trades and earn activity with zero-knowledge proofs. | MetaMask documents wallet security, token permissions and card-provider data practices rather than shielding general wallet activity. | Compare the privacy of supported on-chain activity, separately from account security. |
| Product scope | We combine eligible US account rails, earn, private transfers and supported 24/7 tokenized markets in one account. | A Mastercard connected to supported assets in MetaMask across selected networks. | We built an integrated money account; MetaMask Card is a spending extension. |
| Fees | We charge 0% Fiber deposit and trading fees; network, spread and third-party fees can apply. | MetaMask publishes fees by token type plus possible gas, cross-border, ATM and premium-card costs. | MetaMask is more explicit today on card fee scenarios; our 0% claims apply to deposits and trading. |
| Markets and earn | We show earn live in the balance and offer supported tokenized stocks, commodities and crypto 24/7. | MetaMask can spend supported yield-bearing tokens but the Card itself is not a unified earn and tokenized-markets account. | We connect income, earn and supported markets in one account. |

## Fiber fit

- You want non-custodial control without managing a general-purpose wallet.
- You want getting paid, private activity, earn and markets together.

## MetaMask Card fit

- MetaMask is already your primary wallet.
- You want to choose among supported tokens for Mastercard spending.
- You prefer adding a card to an existing multichain wallet over adopting a dedicated account.

MetaMask Card is a focused spending product for existing wallet users. Fiber focuses on incoming payment rails, live earn, supported private activity and markets in a non-custodial account.

## FAQ

### Are Fiber and MetaMask Card both non-custodial?

Both products keep core wallet control with the user. We build a familiar account around that boundary. Integrated services can still have separate identity, eligibility and processing requirements.

### Does MetaMask Card offer the same privacy as Fiber?

Fiber shields supported transfers, trades and earn activity with zero-knowledge proofs. MetaMask documents non-custodial control, permissions and partner data practices. These address different parts of the account’s security and privacy.
