## About

Monerium was founded in Iceland in 2015 by a team spanning central banking, regulation, finance, cloud infrastructure, and crypto. After several years of research and policy work, it received an electronic money institution license in 2019—the first designed for issuing e-money on blockchains—and built onchain fiat products including EURe.
