## About

Aave traces its history to ETHLend, a peer-to-peer lending project launched by Stani Kulechov in 2017. The team rebuilt the system around pooled liquidity and launched Aave in 2020; it later developed into a DAO-governed lending protocol and introduced GHO in 2023.
