How a USDC payday enters Fiber
USDC is a digital dollar issued by Circle on multiple blockchain networks. If your employer or client pays on-chain, they send supported USDC to the address shown in your Fiber account instead of using a conventional bank transfer.
We treat the token and the network as two separate instructions because both must match. USDC on Ethereum, Base, Solana and other networks can travel on different rails. A payment sent over an unsupported or incorrect network may be difficult or impossible to recover.
- Stablecoin: confirm USDC, not another dollar-denominated token.
- Network: choose one Fiber supports and give payroll the exact name.
- Address: copy it from Fiber and verify the first and last characters.
- Test: receive a small payment before the first full payroll transfer.
Why Fiber stays non-custodial
Fiber is non-custodial. We provide the account experience, but we do not hold, custody or control your assets and cannot access your funds. You authorize activity, which also makes protecting your access and recovery method your responsibility.
That is a deliberate tradeoff, not a promise that risk disappears. A custodial provider can restrict withdrawals or fail; a non-custodial account can become inaccessible if its recovery method is lost or compromised. Understand recovery before making Fiber—or any wallet—your payday destination.
What our 0% deposit fee covers
Fiber charges 0% Fiber deposit fees for supported deposits. That means we do not take a deposit fee when eligible funds arrive; it does not make every step around the deposit free.
Count the sender’s withdrawal fee, blockchain network costs, conversion spreads, card or foreign-exchange charges and any third-party cost between payday and local use. Availability and payment rails vary by eligibility and jurisdiction.
Keep the records Fiber cannot keep for you
Fiber can show account activity, but it does not replace your invoice, payslip or local accounting. Save the agreed exchange rate when compensation starts in another currency, the transaction hash, the date received and the local-currency value used in your records.
Tax and employment treatment varies by country and personal circumstances. A stable target price does not make income tax-neutral. A qualified local adviser can explain the rules for receiving, trading and spending digital assets where you live.
Questions worth asking before the money moves.
Can an employer pay salary directly to a USDC wallet?
Yes, if the employer supports on-chain payroll and both sides agree on USDC, a network Fiber supports, the address and the required employment records. Legal and payroll requirements vary by jurisdiction.
Is USDC the same as a US bank deposit?
No. USDC is a blockchain-based digital dollar, not a conventional bank deposit. Its issuer, reserve structure, redemption path and wallet provider each introduce different considerations.
What should I do before the first full payment?
Copy the receiving details from Fiber, verify the network and address, complete a small test transaction, confirm recovery access and count every likely fee between receiving and local use.
